Beam focuses on career pathways where you can get into full-time, stable employment quickly.

For some, but not all pathways, you might need to do some training before getting into work. This might be a qualification required for a certain careers e.g. construction or security. Or, this could be a short training course to gain some experience in the area, such as care work.

The Beam model is highly personalised and everyone has the opportunity to pursue a journey that is as unique as them. So far, we’ve supported individuals into more than 50 career pathways.

As a general rule of thumb, we provide training courses before getting back into work that are a requirement for, or will improve a Member’s likelihood in their selected career pathway. These typically cost less than £2,000 and take less than a month to complete.

However, this isn’t a hard and fast rule, and we can be flexible where appropriate.
