• We track how different campaigns are funding and encourage Beam supporters to make split donations. These are divided equally amongst all members who are live on the platform - providing a form of ‘blind giving’ - and make up 60% of our current donations. 
  • If needed, we can direct the flow of split donations towards any underperforming campaigns. Through the innovative use of data, we avoid the potential for unconscious bias and guarantee that all of our campaigns will fund. 
  • From our first meetings with those who are referred to us, we look to gather data on self-identified gender and ethnicity, if the person feels comfortable sharing this with us. 
  • We have targets for the number of members going up on the site who identify as female or as a person of colour. These targets are periodically reviewed by the member management team to encourage an eclectic mixture of live campaigns exist at any time.
